I’m finally starting to get excited for fall! The summer days are getting a little shorter, and the humid nights are making me long for crisp fall sleeping weather. I’m slowly starting to introduce new fall pieces to my wardrobe. Mainly items that I can continue to wear after I have the baby such as staple shoes, bags, and jackets. The only thing I couldn’t avoid investing in was a couple pairs of maternity jeans. I was really starting to miss denim and none of my jeans currently fit me. I bought two pairs of maternity jeans from Nordstrom to get me through the next couple of months. The pair featured by Ingrid & Isabel is the perfect shade and fit. They look almost like my normal jeans except for having an elastic band where the pockets would normally be.

I live in denim, basic button downs, and loafers in the early fall/very late summer. I paired this go to combo with a military inspired jacket from Madewell. This jacket is a great transition piece as it’s lightweight and will look great over a white dress, flannel dress, short and sweater combo, almost everything… I couldn’t resist purchasing a few Madewell items from Nordstrom to accompany it such as the loafers and peplum shirt (I’m wearing a size M when I would normally wear XS).  These pieces are easy to mix into my ensemble for days that are not quite fall. Madewell is a great brand for quality staple pieces that will remain in my wardrobe for years to come. See my fall must haves for jackets, shoes, and bags below.

    First of all this look is spot on perfect! Second, I'm excited for you guys to have a baby and I'm excited to start seeing family related posts potentially (as someone who had kids a littler earlier than is the trend right now, it has been hard at times to feel like I wish I would've waited when all I see is everyone still out having fun and doing whatever they want with no kids attached) so super excited to see family influences in my social media feeds. 🙂

    Hey Sarah! I'm about your size and pregnant too and was wondering if you're still able to wear a small in the jacket? Super helpful knowing you got a M in the shirt. I'm trying to do the same as you and maintain my normal wardrobe with the exception of investing in maternity jeans. Just bought a pair of AG this weekend!

      Hi Mycah! Congrats! I'm still wearing an xs in jackets, cardigans, etc. They fit perfectly and I'm happy that I can continue to wear them afterwards. The jeans were a necessary purchase!
