Location: Block Island, Rhode Island // Hotel Manisses

I don’t visit Block Island nearly enough. It is the perfect place to go if you are looking for a low-key, relaxing weekend by the sea. Kiel and I recently visited with a couple of friends and had a wonderful time riding scooters, exploring the shops in town, and walking along the beach. 

We were invited to stay at the newly, renovated Hotel Manisses. Kiel and I enjoyed a dinner at the hotel in the outdoor courtyard  with our interns last summer, and were very excited to be back. The food and atmosphere did not disappoint. I fell in love with the gorgeous decor. If you are planning a trip to Block Island this summer the hotel restaurant and bar are definitely worth a visit (Rooms on the island tend to book up fast. I would recommend booking a room well in advance). Other points of interest include: Mohegan Bluffs, Persephone’s Kitchen  (best coffee and pastries), Block Island Trading Company (clothing store),Tipsy Mermaid (clothing store), The Oar Restaurant, Yellow Kittens Tavern (fun spot for drinks, music, and dancing), and Clayhead Nature Trail. I would love to hear some of your favorite spots on the island!
