Four Seasons Hotels recently launched the Four Seasons App to further enhance the guest experience. With this new app guests can do everything from check in and out of the hotel, order room service, request luggage pick-up, and book a spa appointment without ever having to dial the front desk. It is simple to use and ideal for those who would rather text than talk.
Last weekend Kiel and I had the opportunity to test out the new app at the Four Seasons Orlando resort. I can’t think of a better place to use it. There is so much to do and see in Orlando that a considerable amount of planning is necessary to ensure a successful trip. The morning of our flight we checked into the hotel using the app and it definitely made the process a whole lot easier. We didn’t have to wait when we arrived and we were able to request an earlier check-in time.
On the first day of our trip it rained quite a bit, but that did not stop us from having fun on the lazy river. We floated around for a few laps and then headed to PB&G for lunch. Whenever we stay at a Four Seasons hotel the food is always incredible and we have a hard time wanting to leave the property to dine elsewhere. With the new app users can see every restaurant that is on a specific Four Seasons property and the menu for each place. Every restaurant is linked to OpenTable (a third party service) and reservations can be made and changed directly by phone. After a wonderful experience at PB&G we wanted to try all that Four Seasons Orlando had to offer and booked reservations for dinner using the app for each night of our stay.
No matter how many times Kiel and I visit Orlando there is always something new to see and do. I admittedly cannot leave without visiting at least one Disney theme park, but it can be nice to try out some of the lesser known places that continue to pop up in the Orlando area. The Four Seasons app has a built in geo location service that offers in-language maps that display and recommend the nearest restaurants, attractions, shopping, and entertainment. Users can save and share the places or activities that interest them. Additionally the app provides local recommendations including personal recommendations from expert Four Seasons concierges for the individual destinations based on “curated moods”. Kiel and I wanted to do a little shopping and were recommended Downtown Disney (soon to be Disney Springs) and Park Avenue, Winter Park. (We opted for Downtown Disney to visit the Boathouse.)
While I love all of the features of the new Four Seasons app, my favorite feature is the room service. It allows users to order in-room dining with the option to leave special instructions. I can never resist ordering room service for breakfast. There is something wonderful about waking up to waffles and coffee. On one of the nights I placed our breakfast order before going to bed, and used the app to set a wake up call for ten minutes prior to food arrival. We enjoyed waffles and oatmeal from the comfort of our room at the exact time I requested our delivery. I couldn’t help but think of how useful this feature would be for a long day at the Magic Kingdom. Users have the opportunity to order room service from the park with the comfort of knowing that their meal will be ready to be delivered to their room upon their return to the resort. It’s really convenient.
Other highlights to mention include a customized sleep experience (extra pillows, mattress toppers, etc), toiletry requests and a turn down service. We didn’t use the turn down service but I was very impressed with the toiletry request. Kiel forgot his razor and shaving cream and we put in a request for them using the app. Nearly five minutes later a little white box was delivered to our door with the necessary items. I was amazed at the quick turn around. The app and staff were very much in sync. I will definitely be taking advantage of the Four Seasons app during all my future stays! It is worth checking out for any upcoming trips.
